Hey All,

This question might sound silly but if anyone could help me it would be great.

In "Password Registration: Register your Answers section" is there any way of changing the "You must answer at least 4 questions to register" text to something else? If so, where do i change it?

Also in Email Address Verification "Enter your email address below. If you ever need..."

Thanks in advance

FIM Password Reset Client Broken - Error Code: 40007

$

I've got a handful of machines that are getting a pop-up error message immediately upon login to to their workstations in reference to the FIM client software installed on the machine.  The error is as follows:

"FIM Password Reset Registration

An error has occurred. Please contact your helpdesk or system administrator for assistance. Error Code: 40007"

We've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the client but that did not fix the issue.  I've seen similar problems reference this error where the machine was external to the network and it required the FIM Portal URLs be added to the Trusted Site or Intranet Sites in IE, but this is on the internal network and on the domain.  I did, however, go ahead and add the URLs anyways just to see if it might fix the problem regardless.  It did not.  If the user clicks on the link at the login screen (forgot your password) then they will also immediately get this error message and will be unable to go any further through the reset process.

Any ideas on something I could check to fix this?

The client in question is running Windows 7 Pro 32bit, IE 8, FIM client version 4.1.3461.0

There are only a handful of machines that have this problem.  There are hundreds more that are not showing this problem with the same configurations.

Publishing FIM Password Portal/ FIM Portal on the internet

What is the best practice as far as publishing the FIM Password Portal to the internet? How about the FIM Portal for groups/users management?  We have been using UAG but it is not supported in our new data center and TMG is going to be discontinued.

Export Precedence

In the Export Precedence section of About Attribute Flow Precedence, the reason for my Skipped: not precedent is clearly described. However, I am still at a loss as to how to make FIM do what I want. How might I set up FIM to accommodate the following situation?

An HR system contributes employees to the metaverse, while contractors are manually entered into the FIM Portal. In the MV, the employeeType attribute needs to be populated. employeeType also needs to flow back to the FIM Portal for both contractors and employees, so MPRs/Sets/Workflows can be applied.

The HR sync rule contributes "Employee", while the FIM Portal contributes "Contractor". The MV has to flow back to the FIM Portal to update employees. If HR is precedent, "Contractor" never flows to the MV. If the Portal is precedent, "Employee" flows from HR to the MV to the Portal at projection, but then the Portal becomes precedent and a hired contractor cannot be updated when HR joins later.

It seems like there is no solution to this. I hope I am somehow misunderstanding. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

BHOLD SP1 Reporting

Dears,

I was wondering if there are any documents published regarding the BHOLD Reporting module.

Another question, I was trying to generate a report for logging purposes that enables you to view all FIM approval requests with all the relevant data like : Creator display name, Approver display name,..etc

I can only find the Requestor ID and the Approver ID. Can I somehow join the requestor ID with some other table to provide the Requestor display name?

Appreciate your response.

Thanks,

Omar

Hey All,

I have a question regarding FIM, i have 2 disconnected forests with no trust in between. I have setup FIM and was able to sync users from Domain A to FIM and from FIM to Domain A. My question is how do i go about Syncing from Domain A to Domain B ?

I have created a Management Agent for Domain B and scoped the connector (Yes i can reach it also and view the containers) but i need more information on how to go about Sync of users from Domain A to Domain B. My understanding is it has to go from Domain A --> FIM -- > Domain B .. Am i correct ?

New Onboarded User Sign In directly into FIM portal

I am able to add new user through FIM and sync it with Active directory. I am flowing 0->pwdlastset so that user shall be prompted for changing the password

  • Now when I am trying to login with new user in FIM portal, Neither I am able to login, nor it is asking for changing the password.
  • However, if I reset the new user password from AD, I am able to login with new password now in FIM portal.
  • When I tried to login to physical machine though new user domain account, its asks for changing the password and everything works fine as expected and able to login in FIM portal with new password

My issue is why FIM portal is not asking for changing the password.

Help With Group Management

$

Hey Everybody,

I was wondering if anybody has dealt with something like this in the past. Basically the idea is to allow certain people access to manage specific groups. For example lets say I want Jane Doe to be able to manage the "Intern" security group to allow her to be able add and remove users. Which rights does she need in FIM? We currently have several groups in FIM but I only want Jane Doe to be able to see the groups which have her listed as Owner.

Ideally Jane would not be able to create any new groups and only manage groups that have her listed as owner.

Import object deletion not applied when an error occured

Hi,

I'm facing an odd issue in a production environnement :

My ECMA agent imports two users with "multisingle mismatch errors" (due to an incorrect generation of a connected avp file).

In the same avp file I have new (correct) users to add, multiple (correct) updates and multiple deletion.

The problem is :

the users to be deleted are not deleted in my CS nor "detected" as to be deleted,

whereas the users to add and to update are applied in my CS.

When I correct the two "multisingle mismatch" users in my avp file, the users to be deletedare processed  in my CS.

Is there any workaround to force FIM Sync service apply the deletion even if an error occured ?

Any registry key or whatever?

Thanks for your help.

Some users cannot access the portal.

Hello everyone

I have an issue and I still haven't been able to get to the bottom of it.

We use FIM 2010 R2

All of the older users are able to access the portal. However, newer users, although they were created through FIM are not able to access the portal. a You do not have permission to access this site    error occurs.

I have looked at the provisioning tab of older users and compared it with the provisioning tab of the newer users and found that older users which are able to access the portal have 2 detected rules that apply. The rules are something like DRE for AD Active CON accounts Sync and DRE for AD Active FTE Accounts Sync

I'm pretty sure that the issue has to be related in some way with this. The newer users don't have these rules detected.

Is there any way that they can be applied so that newer users would be able to access the portal?

In FIM's sharepoint site all authenticated users have read access, so there's not a permissions problem.

I have no ideea why older users are able to log on to the portal and newer ones not...

Can I use multiple OUs for password reset?

I am in a process of implementing FIM.

The setup will include Password Reset, User on-boarding and off boarding.

While going through the guides, it is stated to create a new OU for password reset users. I was just curious if my AD configuration holds multiple OUs, is possible to accommodate all the OUs therein? Or we specifically need a single OU to enable password reset?

Abhinav

Hello,

I still have a challenge with FIM Installation, i have two servers running Server 2008 R2 SP1,SERVER1 running SCSM 2012 and SQL 2008 R2 and FIMSERVER running Sharepoint 2010 Foundation and i've Installed all FIM components (Sync Service, FIM portal, FIM Reporting, FIM password Registration, FIM Password Reset). I have created two records in the DNS PasswordResetRegistration and PasswordReset to point to FIMSERVER IP. My problem is once the installtion is complete i cant seem to locate the Main FIMPortal web page from IIS, do i need to specify a different port since default port 80 is taken by sharepoint?

When i login to http://passwordresetregistration.test.com:8080/default.aspx i get the error below

You are not authorized to register for password reset. Please contact your help desk or system administrator. (Error 3004)

Fim to AD group export

Good day!
I have a problem configuring FIM 2010 R2 groups to Active Directory.
I have used this manual:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff686261%28v=ws.10%29.aspx

Problem is that sync rule is is status "Not applied" so group objects did not export to AD connector space. :

I've double checked - everything is configured as it shown in manual (except MAs, MPRs and Sync rules display name).

Could you help me solve this issue please?

Of course I will provide additional info and screenshots if needed.

Hi,

I can see that the new features with FIM 2010 R2 allows for the following:

Extranet-capable self-service password registration & reset portals. Key features:
  • Cross-browser support
  • Mobile device support
  • Customizable User Interface

Does anyone know what the mobile device support entails, is this only for Windows Mobile devices or does this support Android devices also?

Thanks,

B
