Weird ECMA2 MA problem: Create Management Agent dialog loops to "Capabilities" page

$
0
0

Playing with a test ECMA2 MA, I've run into a strange problem: after I configure the MA with the "Create Management Agent" dialog, after I configure the last page, the dialog instead of closing and creating the MA goes back to the "Capabilities" page.

I've made a video showing this problem: http://espace.cern.ch/idm/resources/ecma2-capabilities-problem.mp4

I'm getting no error message, and I see nothing in the event log.

Has anyone seen this behavior?

Any suggestion on how to troubleshoot this?

ILM 2007 to FIM 2010 R2 SP1 migration - service is not running

$

Hi All,

We are migrating ILM 2007 to FIM 2010 R2 SP1, We have successfully migrated to FIM 2010 R2 Sp1 with no issue in the Test environment. In production we have face no issue in migrating the ILM 2007 to FIM 2010 R2 SP1.

As we have done this migration in production a long back and ILM was in use and we decide to ran down ILM and use FIM 2010 R2 SP1 going forward.

We have restored the FIMsyncronization database from the old SQL server that was in use for ILM 2007 till now. Now the service is not running and the error message is service was unable to start because the version of the database does not match the version of the product.”

Kindly advice what need to be done to fix it.

Runn Full Syncs from multiple ADMAs parallely

$

0

Hi all, I have a rather basic question (I'm new to FIM/ILM/MIIS).

I have a setup on a FIM server where I have the following Management Agents.

1. ADMA from forest Prod_domain.net

2. ADMA from forest Qa_domain.net

3. ADMA from forest dev_Domain.net

4. ADMA from UA_Domain.net

5. ADMA from Extranet_Domain.net

6. ADMA from PreProd_Extranet_Domain.net

I'm importing user and computer objects into metavarse and joining/projecting to respectively:

cs:user------------>mv:Person

cs:computer------------>mv:Computer

Then I have two other SQL server MAs which are exporting the data to two tables: tbl_Users, tbl_Computers

So the user data flows to tbl_Users table and computer data flows to tbl_Computers table.

7. SLQMA to table tbl_Users

8. SQLMA to table tbl_Computers

On each of the ADMA, I have the following run profiles set.

Full Import,

Delta Import,

Full Sync,

Delta Sync

On the SQL MAs I have these run profiles set.

Full Import
Export
Delta Import

In order to save time, what I'm doing is running the run profile: Full Importfrom all ADMAs in parallel.

My question is can also run Full Sync or Delta Sync for all ADMAs in parallel? Will that cause any issues? As for the design, each user or computer joins to a unique mv object.

Do you see any issues with this approach?

Hi,

BHOLD is hosted in the server named " bholdserver".I have changed the bhold url to a user friendly name by adding a dns entry.

the bhold url  https://bholdserver.microsoft.com/BHOLD/Attestation/Attestationportalmain.aspx is now changed to

"https://attestation.microsoft.com/BHOLD/Attestation/Attestationportalmain.aspx"(attestation.microsoft.com is user friendly name)

but when i browse the user friendly website it automatically redirects to the old servername url.

Why ??

Splitting a large criteria based group into smaller nested sub groups

$

0

Hi everyone,

In our FIM 2010 (not R2) environment we have a few criteria groups groups that have a large number of members which causes long sync times.

One of these groups for example has ~56000 members so I would like to split this group up into smaller groups and make all the smaller groups a member of another group.

My first thought was to make smaller groups based upon the first initial of the accounts last name but this didn't really give an even spread. There are also a large number of accounts that do not have a last name or do not have a letter at the start and I couldn't see how you could group these accounts together.

I then thought about the MV Resource ID. I could create 16 groups each one having a StartsWith on the MV Resource ID. eg. StartsWith {1, StartsWith {2 and so on. This gives me a nice even spread of members in each group.

Is it pure coincidence that I have an even spread in each of the groups and would you recommend using the MV Resource ID as the criteria?

I do not care who is in each of the smaller sub groups as only the top level group will be used to send emails to.

Hope this makes sense and any help and advice is much appreciated.

Hi all,

Anyone please checks for me that whether we can use Powershell URI (provisioning Mailbox) with load balancing URI on FIM. I have a tested but seem that it cannot work with load balancing URI, it just works with individual URI Powershell for each CAS Server.

I'm using Exchange 2013 SP1. Anyone has any idea about this?

Thanks a lot !

FIM 2010 R2 - Reporting - Stored Procedures

Hi

Where can I found stored procedures which are used by reporting like:

DSUserHistory
FIM_Report_User_SP_GetHistory

FIM Outlook Addins and Extensions with Office 365

$

Hi all,

I'm working with a customer who has deployed and been using the Outlook Add-ins for FIM for approvals.  They're recently undertaking an Office 365 pilot, and users whose mailbox has been migrated to Office 365 no longer get the tick or cross in approval emails.

Expanding the message shows the following error:

"This request cannot be approved or rejected for the following reason(s):

The sender (xxx) was not authenticated by Exchange.

Contact your system administrator for assistance."

Is this scenario supported?  I've tried the latest patch for the client to no avail.  Any other ideas?  If it's unsupported, once the FIM service mailbox is migrated to Office 365, will the message disappear?

Many thanks,

Paul.

FIM MA Export taking long time to Export users to FIM Portal. How to optimize FIM MA Export.

$

Hi,

For Initial Load of Data into FIM Porta, we had implemented SQL MA.We are dumping data in to a seperate DB table and importing data into Metavers through SQL MA. Then we are exporting users from metaverse to FIM portal through FIM MA by doing FIM MA Export. The FIM MA export is taking too long time to export users. For exporting 24000 users it took almost 10 hours 45 minutes to complete the Export.

Is there any way to optimize the FIM MA Export to complete the Export in less time.
Please help me out..

Thanks

Prasanthi.

Does someone knows how to achieve this?

Thanks in advance,

IsDNAsAnchor causes MA creation dialog to loop to "Configure Anchors" page

I'm experimenting with the "IsDNAsAnchor" management agent capability, but if I set it to true the Management Agent creation dialog loops to the "Configure Anchors" page after I click finish, without showing any error or writing anything in the event log.

You can see the problem in this video.

Is there something particular I should do to get "IsDNAsAnchor" to work properly?

I would like to use the FIM object ID as a DN, and I don't care about having a different anchor attribute.

This piece of code allows to reproduce the problem:

Hi!

I'm in the process of developing a new MA in C#. This MA makes use of some 3rd party DLLs. The DLL's are properly referenced in Visual Studio (otherwise it would be impossible to compile the code that makes use of classes found in thnem). The build places the MA's DLL into

0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG)).

The Internet's primary suggeston for solving this is to register the DLLs with regsrv32, but this isn't possible with these DLLs due to them not having been compiled with the interfaces for doing registering (a point I will raise with the people who have made them).

However, I also have a small command-line application that I use to specifically test connecting to the new external system that makes use of these same DLL's, and that application is working fine and seemingly fully able to load the classes made available by the DLLs.

So my question is, does anyone have any recommendations for what I can do to get FIM to find/include these DLL's when it is using my MA? Is there any particular directory these DLLs should be placed in or any configuration I need to set up?

Hi,

Is it possible to implement FIM Portal branding per user. Lets assume I have users from 5 departments. Is it possible to present custom portal experience for each?

LDAP MA error: Sync Service: Item already been added: "supportcontrol"

Hi,

one of my customers wants me to connect his FIM to his VoIP Server. When trying to create the generic LDAP MA the following error occurs (@ the Connectivity tab):

Synchronization Service Manager: Item has already been added. Key in dictionary: "supportedcontrol". Key being added: "supportedcontrol".

The connection towards the VoIP Server takes place, since the credentials are being veriefied. There is no entry in the logs and nowhere else to look for further informations..?

FIM is a fresh, plain installation and runinng under 4.1.3634.0, the LDAP connector was patched to 4.3.1082.0.

So my question is can anyone contribute an idea to solve this issue?

Thanks in advance,

Timo

Search results not showing for normal users

Hi,

I've created a search scope which is based on a set as in the query below:

/*[ObjectID = /Set[ObjectId = 'bc553874-5cc0-4ec3-97f8-c64370ae6120']/ComputedMember]

This works fine for when logged in as the FIM Installer account but if I try to use the search scope as a normal user I don't see any results listed. I'm guessing this is a permissions issue for normal users so I tried granting read rights to the computed member attribute for the resource but it doesn't work... Can anyone offer any advice as to what I'm doing wrong please?

Thanks,

Lee.
