Is there any way to speed up CSexport of MIIS ?

$

We are in MIIS migration project.

I backuped MIIS SQLDB and restored to MIIS test environment.

I tried to csexport some AD_MA which has about 22000 objects but it is incredibly slow.

MIIS test environment is 8 core CPU and 12 GB memory but,  it is very slow and CPU usage is also low(1%,2%) memory usage is high.(9.6GB) by task manager .

How could I improve that ?

Newbie - building a portal using UAG / FIM

Hi,

i'm a complete newbie to many of the topics in my question so for that i do apologise. In the absence of an architect familiar with portal / security / web design i've been asked to give a brief overview of what UAG / FIM is in relation to my organization building a portal (to be used by 'external' users to access various functionality such as interacting with workflow steps, submitting files, receiving documents etc.).  For workflow I have suggested a product, and pointed out that we would need developement time to set up a suite of workflows on said product.  We would also need to allow for installation / setup of said product.  For the portal itself, i'm envisaging a website onto which users can log on and once logged on can browse to whatever area they need to use.  What i'm not clear on is what UAG / FIM's role in this is.  If the website was developed in, say, ASP.Net woudl it be a case of the ASP.Net code calling UAG / FIM at the logon screen to authenticate? Or would UAG / FIM provide a wizard to build a logon page or...what?

Thanks!!!

ODSEE LDAP to Active directory migration

Hello All,

I got a chance to lead the project of migrating the oracle directory server enterprise edition database to Active directory  ..... we wanted to move oracle to AD for cost cuttings....

We have already Active directory application is in place .... but some applications are using oracle directory server with large custom schema around 300 attributes and 150 objectclasses and 1000 LDAP groups and 2500 nsroles ..

As a the process of moving .. i have identified the following things should take care ...

1)password policies

2)schema (custom schema)

3) Group migration

4) Migrating the ACI's permissions

5) Migrating the roles ...

6) Adding the more attributes to already existing users.

7) Migrate the applications from LDAP ..

oracle directory server is running on NON-SSL .. so i believe .. cert migration is not necessary ...

What's my question is ....  is this the process enough for migration ...

and How can we migrate the data in simplest way ??

Does Active Directory supports  .... nsrole ??? how to move the nroles data base and where to ???

Can we move the  static and dynamic groups in to security groups ???

Please suggest me with your valuable inputs ..

I am expecting a quick reply from you guys as i have short period of time ... for project kick off ...

By the way we have FIM is in place to migrate the missing  users information ....

Thanks,Rakesh

GALSync cross forest move - Duplicate

$

I am performing an Exchange migration to a resource forest using Linked Mailboxes. After the mailbox has been migrated the mailbox user remains as a mail enabled user. After the next GALSync is performed the new Linked Mailbox is synched back to the account forest as a Mail Contact. So now a contact and a mail enabled user exists creating a duplicate, which causes issues.

Another forum thread details the problem, and advised that it was able to resolve this by modifying the galysnc.dll

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/d0a27eb9-451d-450c-b887-488f68de3fbb/fim-2010-galsync-with-preparemoverequestps1#8b69684f-cc88-4039-9ef5-fc1b5df8e5ac

Does anyone know how to go about doing this? The forum thread was quite old and I am not sure if the person will respond.

Hello pips!

Does`s anybody know if it is possible to have the PeoplePicker show another attribute then DisplayName when you have selected a object?

I don`t use DisplayName on the given objecttype, and therefore the list is "empty" even though I selected one.

FIMMA has  value for firstName attribute. I have 2 other MA's flowing values to firstname in metaverse. MA1 with higheset precedence and MA2 with 2nd and FIMMA, the least. If both the MA1 and MA2 are disconnected, wouldn't the firstname be going back to what FIM had previously?

In my testing, I could see the last connected CS value is retained. Please help.

CSentryChange and CSentry, how to access CSEntry's attributes from IMAExtensible2CallExport.PutExportEntries

$

Hi,

I am in the process of porting a ECMA 1.0 MA to ECMA 2.2.

The existing implementation needs to lookup certain values of the object that is being exported, the attributes however do not necessarily change. For example the CSentry has a ID value in connector space that is needed in certain update operations in the target system and that ID value is not the DN. With ECMA 1.0 the ExportEntry method can easily access all attributes of the CSEntry object as this object contains all relevant entries. With ECMA 2.0 that is not the case, the CSentryChange object contains only the changed attributes of the connector.

How is one supposed to access attributes of CSEntry objects during export if these do not change in the same operation?

Best regards

Steffen

Best way to expose Password Registration Portal to the outside

Hello,

We are an educational instituiton currently attempting to provision the Password Reset and Registration portals so that they can be used by Online students who are obviously not domain members or on a campus.

The reset portal is working just fine as it is Anonymous Auth and I would like to have some way to use a form to authenticate from the outside for remote students to get to the registration portal without having to have students enter "domain\username" and "password". And then at the point to have to enter the password again.

What is the suggested or preferred way to accomplish this? TMG/UAG?

Thanks for your time,

Recently, migrated from a mixed Exchange 2003/2010 environment to fully Exchange 2010. The issue is how to re-configure THE FIM GALYSYNC Management Agent to detect Exchange 2010 vice Exchange 2003. Tried reconfigure the MA to detect Exchange 2010, but every time it is saved and re-opened it is still detecting Exchange 2003 instead of Exchange 2010.

Does anyone know how to possibly reconfigure the Management Agent without having to rebuild form scratch.
