When Plagiarism takes place ?

0
0

On every occasion we pay attention the word Plagiarism, the first picture that comes to our minds is the one approximately a high faculty or university scholar plagiarizing on her paper. The fact, however, is lots greater wonderful, as each day, we pay attention information approximately well-known human beings, educators, mentors or even political figures plagiarizing in some manner. This week, the defense minister of Germany turned into pressed to renounce due to of plagiarism pointers. Mr. Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg stepped down from his office on Thursday, over revelations of enormous plagiarism times of plagiarism in his doctorate thesis. plainly, the previous defense minister ripped a large amount of written content material from a previously launched publish into his inspect, however by no means cite his sources.

Likewise, Rene Lafreniere, a well-known head of surgical remedy at the university of Calgary , became determined to have plagiarized via replicating fabric from medicinal journals without providing right credit. In comparison to Mr. Guttenberg, Rene is truly nonetheless practicing and certainly in no way confronted any disciplinary measures because of plagiarizing.

Without a doubt, plagiarism is a phenomenon that is affecting a extensive range of human beings from all avenues of existence. the largest slips made while managing this predicament is to name an character who plagiarized a cheater and pass ahead with disciplinary measures such as postponing the scholar. This method is innately erroneous as it neglects to renowned the main motives for plagiarism which can be usually cultural and emotional in nature. In brief, nobody plagiarizes inside the hobby of plagiarizing. as an alternative, there are surely several elements in consideration that induce a person to copy material originating from a supply with out supplying correct credit to the preliminary author.

Previous to we observe a number of those factors, it's far critical to understand what plagiarism is and the manner college students regularly wind up carrying out this terrible sin. In primary terminology, plagiarism is using someone else's textual content or principles while no longer supplying that man or woman suitable credit. thus, every time you replica some thing from some other source and neglect to correctly well known the foundation, you're wearing out plagiarism. This receives greater complex when the individual inadvertently does no longer file sources, and this is standard amongst the large majority of college college students because of lack of corporation or maybe physical and intellectual tiredness.

You will also discover a few different reasons why rookies plagiarize along with deficiency of library skills. Many professors just think that their students have been taught crucial academic writing capabilities, that is normally incorrect. several college college students do not understand the diverse instructional styles like MLA and APA and now have never drafted an actual studies paper of their entire lives. several of those university college students have now not been taught precisely a way to encompass quotations regularly of their composing and nicely cite the origins in the bibliography. consequently, countless students, beneath time pressure, would just replica content from a ebook or a web web site and move forward with their composing, now not noticing that each external supply desires to be cited inside the right layout.

Educators should take duty in regards to plagiarism and  make certain that freshmen are equipped with the right understanding to hold clean of plagiarism in the first area. It is likewise encouraged that students employ a web based plagiarism checker ( http://www.plagiarism-checker.me/ ) to experiment their writing prior to filing it to ones own professor.

MIM creating Exchange 2010 legacy mailboxes

I wanted to see if anyone have ever run into this.  I have AD provisioning up and running with MIM. The AD account is created and all looks good from that perspective.  I have run into a problem however where the Exchange mailbox is created but is in a corrupted state when I query it with Powershell.  When I look in the Exchange console it states that it is a legacy mailbox.  I am using the following to provision the account and I know this has worked in other environments.  We have tried this manually from the Exchange console and it seems to work fine.

The AD environment is is functional level 2003 and Exchange 2010.  The code is as follows:

mailboxMDB = "CN=MyDB,CN=Databases,CN=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT),CN=Administrative Groups,CN=acme,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=acme,DC=com";

CSentry = ExchangeUtils.CreateMailbox(ManagementAgent, dn, nickName, mailboxMDB);

CSentry["msExchHomeServerName"].Value = "/o=acmeou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Configuration/cn=Servers/cn=myServer"; // msExchangeHomeServer;

 CSentry["msExchRBACPolicyLink"].Value = "CN=Default Role Assignment Policy,CN=Policies,CN=RBAC,CN=acme,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=acme,DC=com";

//Added the following line as a potential fix but no luck

CSentry["homeMTA"].Value = "CN=Microsoft MTA,CN=PDMBXDB2,CN=Servers,CN=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT),CN=Administrative Groups,CN=acme,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=acme,DC=com";

MIM doesn't throw any errors when exporting to AD and there is nothing else in the logs.  Does you have any idea what might be going on and why they are being created as legacy mailboxes?

Trust Requirements for Cross-Forest Gal Synchronization with Exchange Resource Forest

Is there any documentation from Microsoft about the forest trust requirements in a GalSync scenario when one of the organizations has their Exchange org in a Resource Forest attached to disabled user accounts with linked mailboxes (user accounts residing in separate production forest)?

I  found a blog entry stating that with linked mailboxes a trust is needed but I cannot find any official Microsoft documentation one way or the other. Any help would be appreciated! If possible, we would like to accomplish this without the trust but due to the Resource Forest scenario a trust may be required. Thank you in advance!

"invalid-dn" with "Oracle Database" Connector

I created a "Oracle Database" Management Agent and need to export data from FIM R2 to a Oracle DB.

Anchor in FIM is OID

in Oracle defined: OID RAW(13) NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (OID)

I'm able to export the records to Oracle, but I'm not able to do any updates!

when trying to export updates I get the error "invalid-dn"!

The only difference between DN and OID ist the "#" in the beginning of the DN.

any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Hello,

My name is Boleslaw and I have a question in regards to Fim CM Bulk Client.

I would like to retrieve some performance data, tracing information such as how long does it take for a search to find a query, and any performance related information in form of logs.

I saw that for troubleshooting purposes tracing can be enabled by modifying registry, I could not find though any article that would suit my question, in case I missed it - my apologies.

Best Regards,

Boleslaw.

Office 365 Tenant MA Problems

We have been using the Microsoft Office 365 Tenant MA with FIM 2010 R2, but it looks like it is not loading after the MIM 2016 upgrade.

It looks like it is looking for the old version of the Metadirectory Services DLL. and .Net.

Is there an updated version out there, source code or workaround to avoid completely redoing our Office 365 synchronization?

Thanks,

Al

FIM Guru Winners for November. Plus, your last chance for the 2015 Roll of Honour!

0
0

You only have a few days to get your entry in for the FINAL competition of 2015!

Enter here ---> TechNet Guru December 2015

Below are the results for the TechNet Guru Awards, November 2015 !!!!

The TechNet Guru Awards celebrate the technical articles on TechNet, contributed from valued wiki authors like YOU!

Each month, the contributions are scored by a panel of judges (5 per category, 2-3 in each are MS experts), and the winners of each category are showered with love and attention from all corners of TechNet.

See the links at the bottom, to find out more about the competition and how to enter.

We have picked the top three highest scored contributions for each category to bestow our awards upon.

The awards are in gold, silver and bronze, the gold obviously being the top winner of the category.

The last column is just a few of the comments judges made during the judging process.

In some cases, we have not obtained permission to use the judges names, so they have been reduced to initials.

My fellow wiki ninjas will be digging deeper into some of these articles in this blog series, so watch out for those.

Starting this month you will notice some articles are marked as failing to meet our minimum bar for quality or content.

Any of our judges can exercise their right to veto an article, if they do not feel it meets minimum requirements for a medal.

When this is the case, we will at least give an indication of the reason, so you understand why.

A big thank you also to the other authors who did not make the top three of each category.

Some articles only just missed out, so we may be returning to discuss those too, in future blogs.

    AS: "Good start. However the subject is a bit missleading - I did not see any Tip and any Trick. The article just described how to create a Mobile Service with JS backend. And by the way, .NET Backend is fully scaffolded too - you do not have to implement it on your own, if you do not need any customization over the standard Tables API."
    JH: "Some people miss the quickstart section in the portal. Good to point that one out."
  • Microsoft Azure FAQs by Hussain Shahbaz Khawaja
    AS: "In an FAQ article, I would really expect Questions with Answers. And a lot of links to support those answers. "
    JH: "Nice summary. Would be great to have some pointers for the different bullet points."

FIM Activity update multiple resource

Hi
I'd create a custom activity for add a user to multiple groups

and this is designer code file, i create a code activity and add this to enumerateResourcesActivity1

    this.codeActivity1.Name = "codeActivity1";
    this.codeActivity1.ExecuteCode += new System.EventHandler(this.InitialzeUpdateGroups_ExecuteCode);
    this.enumerateResourcesActivity1.Activities.Add(this.codeActivity1);

And here i put a search function to enumerateResourceActivity

            private void InitializeSearchOrganization_ExecuteCode(object sender, EventArgs e)
            {
                var resourceObject = ReadResource.Resource;
                var ObjectType = (string)resourceObject["ObjectType"];
                string xPathFiler = "";
                string[] selection = new string[] { "ObjectID", "DisplayName", "AccountName" };
                xPathFiler = "/Group[( DisplayName ='Group1') or ( DisplayName ='Group2')]";
                this.enumerateResourcesActivity1.ActorId = new Guid(FIMAdminGuid);
                this.enumerateResourcesActivity1.PageSize = 4;
                this.enumerateResourcesActivity1.Selection = selection;
                this.enumerateResourcesActivity1.XPathFilter = xPathFiler;
            }
I can found 2 Group and try to update

    private void InitialzeUpdateGroups_ExecuteCode(object sender, EventArgs e)
        {
            ResourceType currentItem = EnumerateResourcesActivity.GetCurrentIterationItem((CodeActivity)sender) as ResourceType;

            if (currentItem != null)
            {

                var attributeName = "";
                UniqueIdentifier objectIdValue = currentItem.ObjectID; //<Guid of Group>;

                //Update Organization
                UpdateActivity.ActorId = new Guid(FIMAdminGuid);
                UpdateActivity.ResourceId = objectIdValue.GetGuid();

                List<UpdateRequestParameter> updateParameters = new List<UpdateRequestParameter>();
                updateParameters.Add(new UpdateRequestParameter("ExplicitMember", UpdateMode.Insert, ReadCurrentRequestActivity.CurrentRequest.Target));
                UpdateActivity.UpdateParameters = updateParameters.ToArray<UpdateRequestParameter>();
            }
        }

It can updated, but always update last group, except "Group1",
Can anyone to help me.
Thanks

Self service password portal - password change or password reset?

0

When users change the password by answering the security questions using SSPR, is it considered as password change or password reset from AD's side? If this is considered as password reset, is this same as admin password reset? Would it clear of all the password policy counters set in AD (like minium password age) and starts a new counter?

TIA.

Purge Old Users

Before my time here, my company had a Office 365 hybrid deployment. The Exchange server is long gone and I am looking to do a little house cleaning. There are two things I want to accomplish:

1: I don't know the password to the MSOL user name. If I reset it in AD does it break Dir Sync permanently? I've heard stories.

2: Set up the containers that Dirsync synchronizes with so that items outside that selected container are removed from the Office 365.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

FIM Self-Service Password Reset - No such user Domain\svc-FIMPassword

0
0

Hi all,

I inherited one FIM implementation with FIM SSPR functionality.

I am too new to this SSPR functionality, but anyway will try to give you all the information.

It seems that FIM is working well so far except for FIM Password Reset.

The issue is when user is accessing the Password Reset Portal, enter the username “USER1” and click "Next", he received an error message 3001, which is stating that the identity doesn’t exist.

I checked in FIM portal for the user and he is present, Password Registration has been done in the past and now the user wants to reset the password.

Looking into the Event Viewer logs I extracted the following relevant entries there it this order:

1. Source:        Microsoft.ResourceManagement

GetCurrentUserFromSecurityIdentifier: No such user DOMAIN\svc-FIMPassword, S-1-5-21-xxx

Note: user DOMAIN\svc-FIMPassword is the service account that FIM Password Reset application pool is run in IIS.

             Shouldn’t be here the actual user name that the user has been entered on the initial screen – “USER1”?

2. Source:        Microsoft.ResourceManagement

Microsoft.ResourceManagement.Service: Microsoft.ResourceManagement.WebServices.Exceptions.UnwillingToPerformException: IdentityIsNotFound

3. Source:        Microsoft.CredentialManagement.ResetPortal

Microsoft.IdentityManagement.CredentialManagement.Portal: System.Web.HttpUnhandledException: ScriptManager_AsyncPostBackError ---> The web service client has encountered the following class of error: IdentityIsNotFound

Details: Additional Text Details: The requestor’s identity was not found.

4. Source:        Microsoft.CredentialManagement.ResetPortal

Message: Error processing your request: The server was unwilling to perform the requested operation.

Source: The requester of this operation is invalid.

Attributes:

Details: The requestor’s identity was not found.

ErrorCode: 3001

So all the logs state that the identity couldn’t be found, but checked in Portal and he exists and also the password registration has been done in the past.

And my questions are:

1. GetCurrentUserFromSecurityIdentifier: No such user DOMAIN\svc-FIMPassword, S-1-5-21-xxx

How to interpret this message , because it confuses me - Why do I have here service account for FIM Password Reset application pool in IIS instead of the account that the user entered on the Portal?

Or indeed it states that the service account is missing, and if it is like that, where should be present, because the account exists in AD but it doesn’t exists in the Portal, because it is not part of any sync rules.

2. Any other checks to make sure the user identity is present and available for Password Reset?

Thank you in advance!

Hi,

I have just installed FIM Sync service assuming that it is free , you can refer below technet wiki for the same. However when I installed FIM , it is showing a evaluation period. How can I get it activated now ?

FIM Portal - Multiple object type page header sort issue

Hey all,

Happy New year to you. I have an issue I cant seem to figure out how to resolve.

I have a page in the portal I created called Phonebook

I have populated the search scope to return both Person Objects and a custom resource call contacts

The search works great, but when I try to sort the page by anything but display name (by clicking the header) it turns up blank with no results and I have to hit search again. Then I can sort it.

This also happens with just the custom object contacts page.

Any help you can give would be appreciated.

Thanks

I have a unit in my daughter's back yard. I've bought a new computer and passed my old one to her. She uses my internet connection, and has access to the 365 Office and several other items which we can have on the two computers. My problem is that my email address is now on both computers. I would like her to have her own email address on her computer and make it separate from mine. At present if I change my desktop background I change hers as well. Anyone understand what I am trying to say. Thanks.
